“Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.” - Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy
A lonely traveler wandering through a prosaic world joins the procession route out of curiosity for the terminus. The transient spaces of the commons become one of connection. Through trials and tribulations, the traveler finds themselves and finds community along the way. Like an opera, the acts of the procession route push the visitor forward in search of the spectacle. This path brings unlikely journeys together. As one loses themselves in the maze, one departs from ordinary life. This departure allows for reflection and contemplation. The individual transfers power from themselves to their surroundings. The path purifies the traveler of preconceptions and the mundane.
