The billboard, once a way to pay off the family’s mortgage in half the time, not only puts an eye strain on their neighbors but an internal strain on the family unit. The investigation of liminal spaces in suburbia redefines the boundaries between public and private spaces. The prototypical Levittown single-family house is no longer protected behind the white picket fence of the American Dream. The insertion of the billboard into the suburban context speaks to the narrative of Learning from Las Vegas as the copy-paste suburban homestead is nothing more than a scantily clad billboard.
